
Malcor, Wilson Earn Sixth-Place Finishes

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State golfers Ugo Malcor and Drew Wilson each put together sixth-place finishes to begin their summer play.Â

Malcor tied for sixth at the St. Andrews Links Trophy in St. Andrews, Scotland. He put together a four-round total of 11-under 277 at the St. Andrews Jubilee and Old Courses.Â
Â
He fired an opening round of 67 at the Jubilee Course before stringing together three-consecutive rounds of 70 on the legendary Old Course.Â

The event featured 144 players from around the world with the top 53 scores making the 36-hole cut. Past tournament competitors include eventual major champions Rory McIlroy, Ernie Els and Justin Rose.

Wilson tied for sixth at the Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. He finished with a total of 13-under 275 over four rounds with scores of 67, 71, 69 and 68.

The Dogwood Invitational boasts a storied history since its first edition in 1941. Eventual major champions Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Webb Simpson and Brian Harman all competed in the event as amateurs. Former Bulldog Hunter Logan won the 2023 edition.Â

This year's tournament began with a field of 100 players, including 25 from the SEC.
