Skinner Leads Watersound Invitational After Opening Round

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Mississippi State carded a team round of 4-under 276 after round one of the Watersound Invitational, sitting in a tie for fourth with two Bulldogs in the top 10.

Jackson Skinner put together his best round of the season, firing a 6-under 64 – tying the seventh-best score in program history. The true freshman sits atop the leaderboard with a bogey-free card that included four birdies and an eagle.

Garrett Endicott put together a 3-under round of 67 for his third sub-70 score of the season. He carded four birdies with only one blemish and is tied for sixth overall.

Dain Richie shot a 74 in day one. Getting off to a rough start, Richie righted the ship with four birdies in his final 10 holes and settled in a tie for 47th at 2-over.

Drew Wilson follows Richie at 3-over. Going out at 6-over, Wilson flipped a switch in his second nine with four birdies. Ugo Malcor rounded out the Bulldog team lineup with a 7-over 77.

Ben Kelling continued his solid play in the individual spot with a 1-under 69. Carding five birdies, Kelling marks his first collegiate sub-70 score and has compiled three rounds of par or better in his last six rounds.

State will begin round two with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
