BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – For the second time in the last three seasons, Mississippi State men's basketball will square off with Georgia Tech as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge announced on Thursday by both conference offices and ESPN.
The Bulldogs and the Yellow Jackets will meet at McCamish Pavilion on Wednesday, December 3. Tip time and television network assignment will be released at a later date.
The ACC/SEC Challenge will total 16 games over a two-day period on December 2 and 3 with every game televised by the ESPN Family of Networks – ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network. All matchups also will be available via the ESPN app.
The SEC emerged with an impressive 14-2 mark at last year's event. State dialed up a 90-57 rout of No. 18 Pitt at Humphrey Coliseum which marked the program's largest margin of victory over a ranked opponent.
Georgia Tech is coming off a 2025 NIT appearance under third-year coach Damon Stoudamire. The Yellow Jackets possess a 17-13 series edge with a majority of the 30 meetings between the two programs coming as SEC rivals.
The Maroon and White is led by Chris Jans who is one of four coaches in SEC history to amass at least 21 victories and guide his squad to a NCAA Tournament appearance during each of his first three seasons.
Already released, State's non-conference schedule has taken shape with a Black Friday football-basketball doubleheader as the Bulldogs play host to SMU on Friday, November 28 followed by Memphis on Saturday, December 20 at Humphrey Coliseum.
The Bulldogs have a neutral site showcase matchup with Iowa State on Monday, November 10 at the Sanford Pentagon located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
State will be joined by Kansas State, Nebraska and New Mexico at the 2025 Hall of Fame Classic on November 20-21 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Maroon and White has a return matchup with Utah at the Delta Center, home of the NBA's Utah Jazz. The Bulldogs also have non-conference home meetings with Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, November 15, New Orleans on Monday, November 24 and Long Island on Tuesday, December 16.
