STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's tennis dropped their final home contest to the No.14 Texas Longhorns 4-0 on Sunday inside the Rula Tennis Pavilion.

The Bulldogs won their first doubles match courtesy of a 6-4 win by 71st-ranked Gianna Oboniye and Athina Pitta over Texas' 26th-ranked dup of Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo and Ashton Bowers, however the Longhorns won the next two doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. Texas would go on to claim three singles matches to end the day. Chiara Di Genova won the opening set of her singles match but was unable to finish. Alessia Tagliente won the second set of her match before the match was clinched.

• No. 71 Gianna Oboniye and Athina Pitta picked up their second ranked win and tenth dual match victory of the season defeating Texas' No. 26 duo of Ariana Anazagasty-Purssoo/Ashton Bowers 6-4.
• Emma Cohen and Carolina Troiano paired up for the first time this year.
• Of the Bulldogs' 13 SEC contests to date, 12 have been against ranked opponents with nine programs being ranked inside the top 25.

No. 73 Mississippi State hits the road to take on No. 8 Oklahoma at 5 p.m. on Friday and Arkansas at noon on Sunday to close out the regular season.
