
Bulldogs To Compete At Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Mississippi State men's golf returns to the course this weekend for the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee.Â

The par-71, 7,112-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course will play host to 14 teams on April 4-6, including four SEC foes — No. 2 Auburn, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 19 Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

The Bulldogs have put together top-six finishes in their last five starts, including a victory at the Desert Mountain Collegiate in March. They finished sixth in their last tournament at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate with five players placing inside the top 25. Â

State's lineup this weekend includes Garrett Endicott (No. 1), Dain Richie (No. 2), Harrison Davis (No. 3), Josep Serra (No. 4) and Drew Wilson (No. 5). Trip Duke and Alejandro Fierro will compete as individuals.

Endicott enters this week coming off five-consecutive top-30 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the Desert Mountain Collegiate, for which he earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors. He leads the team in scoring average (71.81), rounds in the 60s (6) and is tied for first with four top-20 showings. He tied for 21st in his last start at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate.

Richie has been playing his best golf of the season, stringing together top-20 finishes in his last four starts. He tied for 14th at the Arizona Thunderbirds, having been at the top of the leaderboard after opening rounds of 2-under 70 and 3-under 69. His best showing this season was a tie for eighth at the Desert Mountain. He leads the team with 13 rounds of par or better.

Davis is having a successful spring campaign with three top-20 finishes, tying for 17th in his last start. His eighth-place showing at the Desert Mountain, in which he shot rounds of 1-under 71 and 4-under 68, was the best of his MSU career. He began the spring finishing 12th at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate in February.

Serra is tied for first on the team with four top-20 finishes, led by a ninth-place result at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in the fall. Wilson tied for 25th at the Arizona Thunderbirds, his second-best result of the season behind finishing sixth at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.

Duke and Fierro are making their first starts since the Thomas Sharkey, where they both put together their best showings in the Maroon and White. Fierro led the team at the event, finishing sixth at 2-under, while Duke tied for 24th.

Play begins Friday at 11 a.m. CT. The Bulldogs will go off on a shotgun start and play continuously. Live results will be available on Golfstat.
