KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Mississippi State men's basketball program announced the initial pieces of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Thursday.
The Bulldogs will take on Memphis on Saturday, December 20 inside Humphrey Coliseum to complete a home-and-home series.
State took down No. 21 Memphis, 79-66 last season at FedEx Forum, which marked the program's largest road margin of victory over a ranked opponent in school history. The Tigers have appeared in three of the last four NCAA Tournaments under eighth-year coach Penny Hardaway.
The Maroon and White will be joined by Kansas State, Nebraska and New Mexico at the 2025 Hall of Fame Classic held on November 20-21 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
All four programs at the two-day event were ranked inside the KenPom top 65 and among the NET's top 80 rankings last season. Tournament matchups, game times and television broadcast details will be revealed at a later date.
State has a home matchup with SMU in addition to a return meeting with Utah at the Delta Center as part of its 2025-26 non-conference slate. The Bulldogs also are scheduled to go on the road for the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge on either Tuesday, December 2 or Wednesday, December 3. Additional schedule information will be announced at a later date.
State is led by Chris Jans who is one of four coaches in SEC history to amass at least 21 victories and guide his squad to a NCAA Tournament berth during each of his first three seasons.
