Kids Coach- Emma Porch

Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.
This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Emma Porch of Pelahatchie.
Emma has been a patient of Children's of Mississippi her whole life. Born with several serious conditions, including a heart defect and scoliosis, she has had numerous surgeries and stays at the hospital.
Currently, Emma sees multiple providers and specialists at Children's of Mississippi. She knows the clinic locations and loves being able to navigate independently around the hospital. She rarely meets a stranger and always loves talking to everyone she meets. Last year, she participated in the Children's Miracle Network radiothon, and she loved that, too.
Emma has a heart for helping others. Even at 7 she has said she wants to help heart kids, drive the ambulance, and be a child life specialist. Emma loves "her hospital," and at least twice a year she brings baby blankets that her grandmother crochets to donate for new babies and toddlers in Children's Heart.
