Weed Leads Bulldogs After Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Day One

FORT WORTH, Texas – Mississippi State completed day one of the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate in 10th place, firing a two-round total of 17-over 577. The Bulldogs jumped three spots from round one to round two.

Avery Weed leads State at 2-under and 7th place overall. Weed carded two rounds of 1-under 69, totaling five birdies and an eagle.

Chiara Horder sits at 7-over for the tournament, improving 12 places after a second round of 2-over 72. Ana Pina Ortega put together a solid second round, carding four birdies in an even-par 70.

Izzy Pellot sits in 50th place at 8-over while Samantha Whateley stands at 9-over and 56th overall.

MSU concludes the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate on Tuesday from Hole 10. Ortega tees off at 8:42 a.m. CT with Whateley and Pellot starting their rounds at 8:51 and 9:00, respectively. Horder and Weed round out the State contingent at 9:09 and 9:18.
