No. 22 Bulldogs Sixth After Day One of Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 22 Mississippi State sits in sixth place following the first day of play at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate. The Bulldogs shot rounds of 2-under 286 and 3-over 291 for the 36-hole first day.

Dain Richie leads State at 5-under, sitting in a tie for first after rounds of 2-under 70 and 3-under 69 . The senior has now put together nine-consecutive par or better rounds, dating back to round three of the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in October. Richie was bogey free in round one and carded five birdies in round two, including his first three holes.

Drew Wilson rebounded from a 2-over 74 first round with a steady round of even-par 72 his next time through the course. He leads the field with a score of 7-under on par-5s with five birdies and an eagle.

Garrett Endicott fired a 2-under 70 first round with three birdies. The reigning SEC Golfer of the Week finished the day with a 76 in round two to sit at 2-over heading into the final day.

Ugo Malcor carded five birdies in an even-par 72 first round. He sits at 4-over for the tournament.

Harrison Davis, competing as an individual, played solid golf before his second round was suspended because of darkness. The senior shot a first round of 1-over 73 with four birdies and sits at even par in round two, heading into the clubhouse after birdieing holes 15 and 16.

Round two resumes for Davis at 9:30 a.m. before the Bulldogs tee off for the final round. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
