March 14, 2025 | Track & Field
VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia – Mississippi State men's track and field concluded the first day of the NCAA Indoor Championships on a high note, with the field lead in the heptathlon and two final qualifications.
Combined events standout Peyton Bair began competition for the Bulldogs in the heptathlon 60m, where he ran a personal best of 6.74 to take the early lead. He went to jump 6.92m in the long jump and threw a season's best of 14.42m in the shot put. He concluded his first day of competition with a personal best in the high jump, jumping 2.03m to regain the lead by 17 points.
The day continued in the men's 60m, with Nicholas Fakorede making his NCAA debut. The 4x400m squad, consisting of Bair, Christion Barker, Cyrus Jacobs Jr., and Alfonso Hale Jr., will be the last of the Bulldogs to compete tomorrow evening. The Bulldogs will appear in the first section of the event, kicking off at 7:20 p.m. EST.
