NASHVILLE – The 55^th-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs (9-2, 0-2 SEC) were defeated by the 19^th-ranked Vanderbilt Commodores (9-1, 2-0 SEC) in the first game of their SEC road trip.
After Vanderbilt picked up the doubles point, State fought hard to get back into it. Despite their best efforts, the Bulldogs eventually lost the match 7-0 at the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center to the Commodores.

Match Notes:

Jayna Clemens fought to extend her winning streak in singles to nine, but was eventually beaten by Vanderbilt's Sonya Macavei in a super-tiebreaker.
Carolina Troiano is now the only player for the maroon and white that is still unbeaten in singles dual match play (4-0).
This was Mississippi State's first time going up against multiple ranked opponents this season in singles.

Next Up: MSU travels to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri (9-2, 0-1 SEC) at Green Tennis Center or Country Club of Missouri at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 2^nd.
