Logan Begins Play at Argentina Open
February 26, 2025 | Men's Golf
BUENOS AIRES – Former Mississippi State Bulldog Hunter Logan will begin play on the Korn Ferry Tour at the Argentina Open Thursday. The tournament runs until March 2 at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Â
Logan qualified for the event in January after shooting a bogey-free round of 8-under 64 at the Weston Hills Tour Course in Weston, Florida. He entered a sudden-death playoff, where he made birdie to punch his ticket to the event.Â
Â
"I am excited for Hunter and the opportunity he has in front of him," head coach Dusty Smith said. "I know what he is capable of, and I know how well he has prepared for this event. We wish him the best this week."
Â
Logan made his PGA Tour debut in October 2024 at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.Â
Â
Logan led the Bulldogs with a 71.06 stroke average last year in his final season. That average ranked third in program history, and he posted a career-high-tying 21 par or better rounds. He finished his career with 74 par or better rounds and 33 rounds in the 60s, both of which are second in program history. His 15 rounds in the 60s in 2023-24 came one shy of the program's single-season record set by Alex Rocha in 1999-00.
Â
The Steens, Mississippi, native was tabbed a PING All-Region performer by the Golf Coaches Association of America in May 2024. He collected three top-five finishes in 2023-24, including his first career individual victory. At one point, he ranked as high as No. 35 in the PGA Tour University rankings.
Â
The Argentina Open became a Korn Ferry Tour event in 2024 and is the product of a partnership between the Tour and the R&A. The winner of the tournament will receive an exemption into The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland this summer.
