State Prepares For Delayed Launch To Rocket City Softball Showcase
February 21, 2025 | Softball
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – No. 17 Mississippi State will play four games in two days at the Rocket City Softball Showcase this weekend. The schedule originally called for the event to take place over four days, but cold temperatures and poor field conditions have altered the Bulldogs' plan. They will now play a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday.
Â
The first game of each day will now be played at UAH's Charger Park in Huntsville. Those games will not have a broadcast option available. State's second game each day will be played at Toyota Field, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas, and will air on FloCollege.
Â
The order of opponents has also been changed. MSU now opens against Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. After a few hours off, the Bulldogs head to Toyota Field to meet North Alabama. On Sunday, State begins the day with Jacksonville State at 10 a.m. before making a quick drive across town to play Miami (Ohio) at 12:30 p.m.
Â
State (10-1) enters the tournament on a nine-game winning streak. The Bulldogs have hit a homer in six straight games, and they had a home run and a stolen base in every game of The Snowman last weekend.
