Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.

This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Xavier Banks of Brandon, MS.

Xavier's mom says he is her miracle baby, because he weighed just 1 pound, 14 ounces when he was born. That's less than a quart of milk!
Â
Xavier has chronic lung disease, but that doesn't slow him down. He sees the pediatric lung doctors at Children's of Mississippi for specialized care and keeps rolling!
Â
Now 7 years old, he likes baseball, karate, basketball and playing games. He also loves to read and write. He doesn't like chocolate.
