Perry Tabbed Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, Main Earns All-Region Recognition
December 02, 2025 | Soccer
STARKVILLE – Ally Perry continues to add to her resume. The Mississippi State midfielder was tabbed a Hermann Trophy semifinalist on Tuesday while also earning First Team All-Southeast Region honors from United Soccer Coaches. Additionally, Zoe Main earned Fourth Team All-Southeast Region recognition.
The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
The award is named in honor of the late Robert Hermann, the legendary St. Louis businessman and soccer executive who founded the National Professional Soccer League, the first pro soccer league in the United States, which later became the North American Soccer League. He was inducted in the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012.
Perry was named the SEC Midfielder of the Year and earned First Team All-SEC honors for the second consecutive season this year. She led the Bulldogs in goals (8), assists (8), points (24), shots (71) and shots on goal (31) while climbing State's career leaderboards. The Frisco, Texas, native wrapped up her time in the Maroon and White by tying the program record for both career (11) and single-season (5) game-winning goals. In fact, she's scored the game-winner in four of State's six top-10 wins in program history.
Along the way, she posted a single-season career-high eight assists to finish second all-time at MSU with 18 for her career, including eight game-winning assists. Perry ranks third in MSU career history in points (60) and fifth in goals (21).
In 2025, the senior started conference play by scoring in five straight matches, marking the third five-game scoring streak in program history and the longest by a Bulldog in SEC play. Her game of the year came in the upset of then-No. 1 Tennessee, when she recorded a career-high five points with two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist. She was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for that performance.
Main was second on the team in scoring this fall, registering six goals and 14 points. She was one of just four Bulldogs to start every match on her way to earning Third Team All-SEC honors. Four of her goals came in league play, and she posted new single-game highs this season for shots and minutes. Main's 40 shots, 20 shots on goal and 1,444 minutes this season were all the highest totals of her career.
MSU saw Macey Hodge named a Hermann Trophy semifinalist last fall, the first in program history. The Bulldogs' first watch list recipient was Kennedy White in 2023. Head coaches will vote on the semifinalists, and three players will be named finalists. The 2025 recipient will be announced on Jan. 9, 2026, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis.
