STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball is set to host the Georgia State Panthers for the Bulldogs annual Education Day inside Humphrey Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. on SEC Network+. Â

- Mississippi State enters the contest fresh off a victory on opening day over Davidson. The Bulldogs won the contest 66-57.
- Destiney McPhaul collected a career-high 20 points. She did so on 60 percent shooting from the field and a 40 percent mark from beyond the arch.
- McPhaul also brought in five rebounds, collected two steals and dished out two assists.
- Favour Nwaedozi collected a double-double in her first appearance in the Maroon and White. She collected 10 points and 10 rebounds.
- Jaylah Lampley and Madison Francis stood out in their collegiate debut. Lampley collected 11 points and six rebounds. Francis picked up eight points and six blocks.
- Francis' six blocks are a conference-best and was the second-highest total in the nation through one game.
- The Bulldog defense held Davidson to 34 percent shooting from the field, which included a 28 percent mark from deep. Davidson knocked down a program-best 241 three last season.
- Nearly 6,000 students and teachers are registered for Friday's game and the Bulldogs are expecting the largest Education Day game in program history.
- Georgia State enters the contest of a 108-59 victory over Oglethorpe.
- The Panthers were one of 20 teams across Division 1 to score 105 or more points in their opening game.
- Five Panthers scored in double-figures.
- Last season, Georgia State won 17 games, which tied the best mark in a single season under Head Coach Gene Hill, who is in his eighth season.
- The Panthers return seven from last season's roster, while welcoming six (two freshmen).
- Georgia State collected 26 steals in their opening contest, the second-best mark in the nation.
