KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Mississippi State men's basketball takes on New Mexico in consolation action at the Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic on Friday evening at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

The Bulldogs (3-2, 0-0 SEC) are coming off a 98-77 setback to Kansas State where Josh Hubbard (23 points), Jayden Epps (18 points) and Quincy Ballard (10 points) secured double figures.

Hubbard has secured 20-plus points in three of his four outings this season, whereas Epps and Ballard secured season-high point totals versus the Wildcats.

New Mexico (3-2, 0-0 Mountain West) has five players averaging in double figures and were handed an 84-72 defeat by Nebraska. Jake Hall (12.8 PPG) posted 20 points, while Tomislav Buljan (11.6 PPG, 10.0 RPG) has dialed up a double-double in two of his last three appearances.

SERIES HISTORY
State and New Mexico will meet on the hardwood for the first time. The Bulldogs have split their previous 14 meetings against Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming who are members of the Mountain West Conference.
