State Falls Short Against Missouri
November 14, 2025 | Volleyball
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball lost in straight sets in the penultimate match of the regular season against Missouri.
"This was a tough loss for the Dawgs, but the team never stopped fighting throughout the match. Now we go back to the drawing board and focus on executing a solid game plan. Though there were some errors in the first set that cast us, the team rallied back and managed risk for the rest of the match, delivering a much better product. We're excited to play one last match in The Griss for a regular-season finale and send-off for our seniors. Hail State!"
Lindsey Mangelson earned her ninth double-double of the season, totaling 13 kills and 10 digs. Mangelson also led the team in points with 13.5 over three sets played.
Cayley Hanson led the squad in assists with 25, followed by McKenna Yates and Mary Neal, who each earned 3 assists.
Yates picked up 22 digs over three sets played, her second-highest performance of the season. Four other Bulldogs earned over 10 digs in the match, contributing to one of the highest team dig totals of the season at 76.
The Bulldogs collected ten total blocks over three sets. Noella Obi and Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss tallied two block assists each. Ava Anderson earned a season-high of two solo blocks.
Mangelson extends her No. 4 spot on the program's freshman record list for kills after tonight's performance, earning 363 marks this season. She moves to the sixth spot on the total attempts list with 939 over 81 sets played.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Vanderbilt. Sunda's match marks the senior day celebration, set to begin 15 minutes before first serve.
