Bulldogs Fall Against No. 2 Texas

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State volleyball took its second loss of the season against No. 2 Texas in straight sets this afternoon.
The Bulldogs fought hard but fell short in consecutive sets against the Longhorns. The Bulldogs move to 12-2 over the season and 2-2 in conference play. Â
Lindsey Mangelson led the team in kills, picking up nine over three sets played. Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss was the next closest with seven kills in the match.
The Bulldogs were led in digs by McKenna Yates, who totaled nine over three sets. Bernardita Aguilar and Mangelson both picked up seven in the match.
The Bulldogs earned nine total blocks in the match, with Ava Anderson, Mele Corral-Blagojevich and Mangelson each earning a solo block.
Aguilar earned a career high of two service aces in today's match.
There were 962 fans in attendance, marking the 12th largest crowd in program history.
The Bulldogs will play this Friday versus rival Ole Miss in The Griss. The match will be a pink-out theme, with the first serve at 6 p.m.
