- State forced a fumble out of the back of the endzone in the fourth quarter. This was State's first forced fumble of the year.
- Nine different receivers caught a pass for the Bulldogs, the most since October 7, 2023 against Western Michigan.
Offensive Notes
- Mario Craver hauled in a nine-yard touchdown reception from Blake Shapen in the third quarter. This was the second touchdown catch of Craver's career.
- Kevin Coleman Jr. caught a one-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He has now caught a touchdown pass in every Mississippi State game this year.
- Blake Shapen has thrown a touchdown pass in 14 straight games dating back to Nov. 19, 2022.
- Blake Shapen threw for 319-yards, the most he has thrown for in the Maroon & White. This is his sixth career 300+ passing yard game and his first at State. Shapen has now thrown for 200+ yards in 10 of his last 11 starts.
- Shapen completed four passes of greater than 20-yards against the Rockets. He now has completed ten passes of greater than 20-yards this season.
- Kevin Coleman Jr. has now caught a pass in 20 straight games and had a career-high seven receptions. This is his second game this season with five or more receptions.
- Kelly Akharaiyi has recorded a reception in 10 straight games.
- Seydou Traore had a season-high five receptions.
- Johnnie Daniels set career highs in rush attempts (10), rushing yards (59), longest rush (15 yards), receptions (3), receiving yards (38), and longest reception (21 yards).
Defensive Notes
- Isaac Smith led the Bulldogs in tackles for the third straight game. He joins current Cleveland Brown linebacker Nathaniel Watson as the most recent Bulldog to achieve that feat. Watson most recently did it Nov. 11-23, 2023.
- Brandon Jennings and Trevion Williams combined for one tackle for loss in the second half.
- De'Monte Russell made his sixth straight start dating back to last season.
- Stone Blanton forced a fumble in the fourth quarter.
- Kai McClendon recorded a four-yard tackle for loss late in the game, this was the first TFL of his career.
- Sulaiman Kpaka and Kobi Albert made their first TFL's respectively as Bulldogs.
- Brylan Lanier, John Lewis, Stone Blanton, and Chris Keys Jr. set career-highs in tackles.
- Tyler Woodard made his Bulldog debut and recorded his first career tackle.
Special Teams Notes
- Hayes Hammond has served as the team's long snapper in 29 straight games dating back to Nov. 25, 2021.Davon Booth returned the opening kickoff 26-yards to the MSU 29. It was State's first kickoff return of the season. The previous nine kickoffs had all been touchbacks.
- Kyle Ferrie made a 23-yard field goal in the second quarter, it was Ferrie's second made field goal of the season and second-straight make.
