Six From State Tabbed ITA Scholar Athletes

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's tennis enjoyed another successful spring by advancing to the Sweet 16 for the fifth time in the past six seasons.
But the Bulldogs' success was not limited only on the courts. Matt Roberts' team was tabbed as one of the ITA All-Academic Teams after posting a 3.52 grade point average during the 2023-24 academic year.
The GPA for men's tennis was the highest among male sports at MSU. It was also the 16th-consecutive year that the Bulldogs were selected as an ITA All-Academic Team and the 23rd time overall since the 1999-00 season.
Additionally, six players from State were also named ITA Scholar Athletes for their academic endeavors. Benito Sanchez Martinez, Carles Hernandez, Dusan Milanovic, Marshall Landry, Nemanja Malesevic and Petar Jovanovic were all picked for the honor.
Jovanovic and Milanovic secured flawless 4.0 GPAs. It was the third consecutive year that both Malesevic and Milanovic were picked as ITA Scholar Athletes while Jovanovic has claimed the honor in back-to-back years.
