Seven Bulldogs Earn All-America Honors

STARKVILLE – Seven Mississippi State track and field student-athletes earned eight All-America honors for their performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Association.
Peyton Bair led the way with two All-America honors, achieving first-team honors in the decathlon and second-team acclaim as the anchor in the 4x100m relay. Bair shattered the school record in a second-place finish in the decathlon with a total of 8,131 points. He improved his 2023 Second Team All-America status by seven places to become the first Bulldog to land two All-America honors in the decathlon.
The throws squad collected three All-America honors. Remi Rougetet earned First Team-All America recognition in the javelin, improving six three places from his second-team acclaim a year ago.
Freshman Roury McCloyen and senior Jhordyn Stallworth both placed 11th in the shot put earning Second Team All-America honors. McCloyen, the school record holder in the freshman shot put and discus, was the highest placing freshman with a mark of 19.12m (62-2.5).
Stallworth, the shot put and discus program record holder, finished with a mark 7.05m (55- 1.25) becoming the first Bulldog on the women's team to earn All-America honors in the shot put.
The men's 4x100m team featuring Bair, Shamar Rose, Jordan Ware and Sema'J Daniels earned Second Team All-America honors after placing 14th in the semifinals with a time of 39.37. Senior Shamar Rose collected his second career All-America honor adding to his Second Team All-America award earned at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the same event, while Ware and Daniels both earned their first career All-America recognitions.
