STARKVILLE - The No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated the No. 23 Alabama Crimson Tide, 13-3, in seven innings on Friday night from Dudy Noble Field. The Dawgs' offense was rolling, as they had 13 hits in the win, including four home runs. Hunter Hines led the offensive attack with two homers and four RBIs.

The Bulldogs' bats were on fire tonight, and Hines and Amani Larry led the way. Hines was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate while recording four RBIs. His two hits were home runs, the first a three-run shot and the second a solo home run. Larry went 2-for-3 with four RBIs as well, and they all came from a grand slam in the fourth inning. Bryce Chance, David Mershon, and Johnny Long all had two hits and one RBI in the game.

Khal Stephen drew the start on the mound tonight, earning his seventh win on the season. He gave up three earned runs in five innings of work while punching out six batters. Gavin Black came in for relief and closed the game for the Maroon and White. He gave up two hits and no runs while striking out four in two innings of work.

Mississippi State is back in action on Saturday for game two of the weekend series against the Crimson Tide. First pitch is set for 2 p.m, and the game will be broadcast on SECN+.
