Bulldogs Fall to No. 1 Tennessee in Quarterfinals of SEC Tournament

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State Bulldogs were defeated by the No. 1 Tennessee Volunteers in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament, 6-5, on Friday night at The Hoover Met.
Pico Kohn drew the start on the mound, and after 3 and 1/3 innings of work, he gave up five hits and two earned runs while striking out two batters. Cole Cheatham, Tyson Hardin, and Tyler Davis came out of the pen for the Dawgs and closed out the game for the Dawgs. Cheatham went 1 1/3 innings, while Hardin and Davis went two each.
Connor Hujsak and Dakota Jordan led the way at the plate tonight for the Diamond Dawgs. Hujsak and Jordan each picked up a hit and had two RBIs. Amani Larry also went 1-for-3 with one RBI, and all five runs came in the fifth inning.
The Dawgs will wait to see if they will host a regional when the NCAA announces regional sites. The full NCAA Tournament Field will be revealed on Monday. The NCAA Selection Show will air at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
