Dakota Jordan Named Semifinalist For The Dick Howser Trophy

The Dick Howser Trophy is presented to the top collegiate baseball player
DALLAS – Mississippi State's Dakota Jordan was selected as a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, which is presented annually to the top player in college baseball.
The '24 award will be presented at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, the home of the College World Series, for the 12th year. The winner also will be unveiled on MLB Network on Thursday, June 13, in the 9 a.m. (CDT) highlight show hour.
Over his sophomore season at MSU, Jordan has shined for the Diamond Dawgs. Entering the series against Missouri, he leads the team in home runs (17) and RBIs (60). Jordan has the sixth-best batting average in the SEC hitting .370.
His 17 home runs are two shy of joining the single season top 10 mark at Mississippi State. His 60 runs batted in are the fourth-most in the SEC. He has 22 multi-hit games this season, the most on the team. He is one of five players to have a four-hit game this season. Jordan also leads the team with a .708 slugging percentage and 71 hits.
In his two years wearing the Maroon and White, Jordan has hit 27 home runs while posting a .342 batting average and driving in 100 runs.
In addition to being named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, Jordan was also tabbed a finalist for the Ferris Trophy. The Ferris Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding college baseball player in Mississippi.
