Javelins Highlights Day Two Of Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Mississippi State track and field team had three top-five finishes and set seven personal records Saturday to conclude the Crimson Tide Invitational. Highlighting the Bulldogs were javelin throwers Ella Hunt (women's) and Remi Rougetet (men's).
Hunt placed second in the event with a distance of 50.00m (164-0.0) on her final attempt. Hunt has finished in the top two in all three meets she has competed in as a Bulldog. She currently ranks in the top 30 nationally.
Rougetet gained a mark of 75.40m (247-4.0) improving on his previous best by two feet. He currently ranks No. 6 in the nation.
Frank Di Sanza placed third with a mark of 70.76 (232-2.0). He ranks No. 14 with a mark of 71.86m (235-9.0) earned at the Hurricane Invitational.
The Bulldogs saw three new personal-best times in the 800m. Freshman Trinity Holland finished in the top 10 with a personal best improvement of more than four seconds. On the men's side, freshman Ben Murray and sophomore Curt Carman also improved their bests by more than a second as well.
State's largest improvement of the day was by junior Gracie Gibson in the 1500m. Gibson improved her personal-best time by over 10 seconds since her previous best set at the Hurricane Invitational earlier in the season.
The Bulldogs will attend two meets next week. The distance and multis group will head to California for the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azuza, California, while the rest of the squad will travel to Florida for the Tom Jones Invitational.
