Diamond Dawgs Even Series With No. 11 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mississippi State won game two, 7-4, in Nashville with a nine-hit offensive performance. Junior Hunter Hines led the Dawgs' offensive attack, collecting five RBIs and two home runs.

Hines had a monster day at the plate, going 3-for-4, with two hits being home runs and a double to grab five RBI. Ethan Pulliam continued to stay hot at the plate and went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI.

Brooks Auger got the start on the mound, went five innings, and picked up six punchouts on his way to his first win. Cam Schuelke and Tyson Hardin grabbed a combined 2 1/3 innings of relief. Tyler Davis put in 1 2/3 innings of work and had a game-defining strikeout in the eighth to pick up his single strikeout and grab his second save of the season.
