Mjracle Sheppard Named to 2024 SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM – The Southeastern Conference announced on Thursday that Mississippi State women's basketball freshman guard Mjracle Sheppard has been named to the 2024 SEC Community Service Team.
The SEC Community Service Team enters its 26th year and remains one of the conference's continual efforts to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition. Sheppard was the lone freshman to be selected for the honor.
Sheppard has utilized her platform to volunteer with multiple local organizations throughout her first season at Mississippi State. She has spent her time volunteering with Starkville Strong, a non-profit organization that provides a support system to those facing food insecurity and homelessness, and has assisted at a local retirement home Montgomery Gardens. Sheppard enjoys also working with different Boys and Girls Clubs in the area.
Another one of her signature time commitments has come with the Special Olympics through MSU Access.
In addition to her work off the court, Sheppard has cemented herself as one of the future faces for Mississippi State and the SEC. She is currently averaging 4.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 17.7 minutes per contest. Her 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game each ranks second among conference freshmen.
