Bulldogs Drop Pitchers' Duel to Air Force

Khal Stephen struck out a career-high 11.
STARKVILLE - On a cold and windy night at Dudy Noble Field, the Mississippi State Bulldogs were locked in a pitchers duel with the Air Force Academy before falling 3-2. Khal Stephen led the Dawgs on the mount on he collected a career-high 11 strikeouts.
The Dawgs pitching shined on the second day as they combined for 13 punch-outs on the night and limited the Falcons bats to only four hits in the contest. Besides setting a career-high in punch-outs, Stephen went seven innings and only allowed three hits.
At the plate, Amani Larry had an efficient day going 3-for-5 against the Falcons. Ross Highfill also went 1-for-3 at the plate, and he had the team's only RBI in the contest. Seven different Bulldogs collected a hit in the game.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Sunday as they play game three against Air Force. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the SECN+.
