Jerkaila Jordan Partners With Kyvan Foods And Proof of the Pudding To Introduce ‘Jerk Sauce’
December 19, 2024 | Women's Basketball
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball graduate student guard Jerkaila Jordan announced Thursday a partnership with Kyvan Foods and Proof of the Pudding to introduce 'Jerk Sauce'.
The sauce and branding of the bottle were carefully crafted by Jordan and Kyvan Foods founder and Mississippi State football letter winner Reggie Kelly. Jordan will receive a royalty from each bottle sold.
The partnership inks the initial food-centered NIL deal for a student-athlete in Mississippi State Athletics history.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this historic partnership," Jordan said. "The support of this community, University and the alumni base is one of the main reasons that I made the decision to return for a final season. As a Mississippi State graduate, the ability to partner with other alumni on this deal means the world to me. This is yet another example of how you can come to Mississippi State and build a national brand."
Kyvan Foods is a family-owned business founded Kelly, who played football at Mississippi State from 1995-98. Kelly, an Aberdeen, Mississippi, native, was a 1998 First Team All-SEC selection for Mississippi State and played 13 seasons in the NFL.
"Working with Jerkaila on this project has been amazing and fans are going to be thrilled with the flavor of her jerk sauce," Kelly said. "She's not only an incredible student but also a star on the court. Her scoring skills are top-notch. Just like she scores on the court, she's scoring big with this jerk sauce. Everything she creates comes with a touch of class. Get ready to savor the experience."
The sauce is now available to the public for purchase online and in store at Maroon & Co. It will be released for purchase inside Humphrey Coliseum for all remaining men's and women's basketball games, beginning with the women's non-conference finale against South Carolina State on Dec. 29.
In addition to the individual bottles, the sauce will be featured on a pair of concession items including a chicken sandwich and chicken nachos at select locations inside Humphrey Coliseum.
