The First ServeÂ
- State and Georgia will face off for the 59th time on Wednesday.
- Mississippi State last picked up a victory against the Bulldogs on September 21, 2022, in four sets. The last time State won in Athens was on October 27, 2021, in a five-setter.
- The Bulldogs enter Wednesday's match off a victory on senior day against the #25 Missouri Tigers. This marked State's first win over a ranked opponent this season after dropping their previous four contests against foes in the top 25.
- Kailin Newsome and Ceci Harness both picked up double-doubles against Missouri, the fifth time the duo has done such in the same match this season.
- Along with Harness and Newsome, McKenna Yates, Mele Corral-Blagojevich and Mary Neal all finished with double-digit digs, the third time five Bulldogs have collected 10 or more in the same match this season.
- Yates extended her streak of double-digit dig performances to six straight games after collecting 22 against the Tigers. She has picked up 10 or more digs in nine of the last 10 matches and has picked up 20 or more in four of her last five.
- Corral-Blagojevich finished with a career-high 19 digs against Missouri which also marked the sixth time she finished with 10 or more in a match this season.
- Arissa Smith leads the team and ranks fourth in the SEC with a .407 hitting percentage and fifth in the conference in blocks per set with 1.19.
- Georgia is led by head coach Tom Black, who is in his eighth season with the Bulldogs. He's acquired a 129-101 record during his time in Athens.
- The Bulldogs enter Wednesday's contest on a two-match skid after dropping contests against #13 Kentucky on November 17 and Texas A&M on November 22.
- Georgia holds a 10-14 record this season with a 4-10 record in conference play. The Bulldogs are 6-4 when they play in Stegeman Coliseum.
- Sophie Fischer leads the conference in total blocks, as she has picked up 141 this season. Her per set average of 1.38 is third in the SEC.
