Alumnus Pedryc Claims First Professional Victory

MALAGA, Spain – Mississippi State alumnus Alejandro Pedryc claimed his first professional victory on Friday on the Toro Tour in Spain. Pedryc held on to claim a one-stroke victory, shooting 216 across three rounds.

The former Bulldog from Piaseczno, Poland, sat in fourth following the first round after shooting 4-under, but was the only golfer to shoot under par on the tournament's second day. His 1-under 70 was three strokes better than anyone else in the field.

Pedryc held a two-stroke leading entering the tournament's final round over Italian Andrea Martini. Pedryc carded an even-par final day to defend his lead and take home his first professional title.

The former Bulldog led the field with 11 birdies and 32 pars during the tournament. The win comes on the heels of a top-50 finish at the Big Green Egg German Challenge and a tied for 52nd finish at the D+D Real Czech Challenge.
