November 02, 2024 | Men's Tennis
ATLANTA – Mississippi State's men's tennis team completed the second day of the GT Fall Invite on Saturday.
Michal Novansky is still undefeated in singles for the weekend after knocking off Matthieu Chambonniere of Ole Miss in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Novansky will bid for the singles championship of the tournament when he takes on Yale's Jason Shuler on Sunday at 9 a.m. The Bulldogs brought home hardware at the event last year as Marshall Landry and Nemanja Malesevic won the doubles title following an undefeated weekend.
Novansky also has a ranked doubles opportunity to start the day on Sunday. The junior from Slovakia will team with Radomir Tomic against Alabama's 18th-ranked tandem of Zach Foster and Andrii Zimnokh at 8 a.m.
Landry and Roberto Ferrer Guimaraes will also be in doubles action at 8 a.m. as they square off against Vanderbilt's Tighe Brunetti and Jack Ingram.
Ferrer Guimaraes will follow up with a singles match against Liberty's Rodrigo Santiago at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m., Tomic matches up against Vanderbilt's Dylan Charlap while Landry battles Robert Bauer of Georgia Tech on his home court.
