Women's Basketball Signee Madison Francis Named To 2024-25 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Preseason Watch List

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball signee Madison Francis has earned a spot on the 2024-25 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.Â

The preseason recognition for Francis came after she turned in her agreement during the early signing period on Wednesday to join the program ahead of the 2025-26 season.Â

Mississippi State is one of five SEC schools with a signee represented on the list for the prestigious honor.

Francis, a 6-2 forward from Lancaster Central High School in Lancaster, N.Y., is ranked the No. 20 overall, No. 6 forward and the top-rated prospect in New York in the 2025 class by ON3. She is the highest-rated signee by the outlet to date under Head Coach Sam Purcell.Â
Francis is also listed the No. 39 overall prospect by espnW HoopGurlz.Â
Francis averaged 29.0 points, 13.1 rebounds, 5.7 steals and 5.1 assists over her junior season at Lancaster, in which she propelled her team to a 2024 NYSPHSAA Class AAA Title.

She was one of 12 players to be named to the Team USA U18 National Team and took home a gold medal at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's AmeriCup Championship in Bucaramanga, Colombia in June 2024.Â

Francis is one of three espnW HoopGurlz Top-100 prospects in Mississippi State's 2025 class and is joined by No. 38 Jaylah Lampley (Lawrence Central High School / Indianapolis, Ind.) and No. 95 Nataliyah Gray (Alief Taylor High School / Houston, Texas).
