State Falls to Volunteers, 3-0

STARKVILLE -Â The Mississippi State Bulldogs came up short in their match against the Tennessee Volunteers, falling 3-0.Â
The third set saw a tight back-and-forth contest, as it had four tied scores and two lead changes. The Bulldogs ultimately fell on a kill from Tennessee.Â
Karli Schmidt got a team-best seven kills followed by Amina Shackelford and Arianna Beckham's six. Beckham collected a team-leading four total blocks. Arissa Smith collected a team-high hitting percentage with .556 and 5 kills.Â
Kailin Newsome and McKenna Yates led State with six digs. Erin Kline totaled a team-high of 18 assists.Â
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Gators. First serve is set for 6 p.m. on SECN+.Â
