
Dawgs Begin The Ally on Monday

WEST POINT, Miss. – The Mississippi State women's golf team is set to host its annual home tournament, The Ally. The three-day tournament is set to begin on Monday, October 21st at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point. Â
The tournament made its debut in 2017 under the name of the Magnolia Invitational, with the name being changed after the 2019 edition of the tournament. It's now named in honor of Ally Ewing, former Mississippi State standout golfer who has had years of success in the LPGA. Â
Avery Weed opens the tournament in the one spot for the Bulldogs. The lone Mississippi native on the team has finished in the top 10 twice this season, including her first collegiate victory at the Mason Rudolph Championship.Â
Chiara Horder is next up in the lineup for State. Horder has picked up two of her best finishes as a Bulldog this season, as she finished 15th in the Carmel Cup and tied for 11th at the Blessings.Â
Izzy Pellot sits in the middle of the Bulldog lineup at the three spot. The junior has finished in the top 20 two times this season.Â
Surapa Janthamunee shoots fourth in the State lineup. Last season, SJ picked up her best career finish of second place at The Ally after finishing 5-under par. Â
Samantha Whateley rounds out the lineup for the Bulldogs. This season, Whateley has picked up two par or better rounds, which tied her total of the entirity of the 2023-24 season. Â
Ana Pina Ortega will compete in The Ally as an individual. In her career, two of Pina Ortega's four best finishes have come in this tournament. Â
The Ally will take place beginning Monday and last through Wednesday, with free attendance for fans. Live scoring for The Ally is available at scoreboard.clippd.comÂ
