Game after game and year after year, Mississippi State football alum Chris Jones continues to prove he is among the NFL's top defensive talents.
During Kansas City's 17-10 road win at the Chargers this past week, Jones recorded four tackles which included two tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback hurries. The five-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion now has 78 ½ sacks over his eight-year career.
Pro Football Focus (PFF) graded Jones' tackling during Week 4 tied for third among interior defenders in the NFL and earned the fourth-best pressure grade at his position (86.5). He owns the highest pressure grade among interior defenders in the league this season at 90.2 and his 81.5 overall defensive grade ranks third at his position.
Jones' pressure grade in 2024 also ranks eighth among all defensive players in the NFL.
Montez Sweat enjoyed another impactful outing in Chicago's 24-18 win over the Rams with a strip sack to bring his career sack total to 43 ½ and forced his 11th career fumble.
The former first round draft pick posted the top defensive (76.1) and pressure (73.4) grades for the Bears in Week 4 and his 76.0 tackling grade for the season ranks third on the team.
Darius Slay led Philadelphia with nine tackles this past week. Slay also graded out with the top tackling and coverage grades for the Eagles. The six-time Pro Bowler's 81.4 tackling grade ranked fourth among cornerbacks in the NFL during Week 4.
Martin Emerson tied for second on the Cleveland Browns with six stops while Willie Gay Jr. earned the No. 1 run defensive grade (75.5) for the New Orleans Saints this past week.
Dak Prescott completed 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns to win his 13th consecutive game against the New York Giants. Prescott earned Dallas' highest offensive grade for his performance at 83.0, which was the fifth-highest mark by any quarterback in the league during Week 4.
Charles Cross is on pace to be a Pro Bowler this season, earning the highest run-blocking grade by a Seattle offensive lineman last week. Cross continues to have the highest run-blocking grade among NFL tackles this season at 90.1, which is also the fourth-best mark by any offensive lineman.
The former first-round pick has the second-highest offensive grade on the Seahawks this fall at 84.3.
Elgton Jenkins is also having a stellar season in the trenches and posted the No. 2 pass-blocking grade for Green Bay this past week at 81.0. His 82.0 pass-blocking grade for the year ranks fifth among guards in the NFL.
Logan Cooke punted five times for a 50.6-yard average last week. Cooke currently ranks fourth in the NFL in net punting (45.7) in 2024 and fifth in yards per attempt (51.8). He remains the NFL's all-time leader in career net punting average at 43.4 yards.
