Johnathan Abram had his best game as a member of the New Orleans Saints during Week 17.
The former Mississippi State standout and first-round draft pick finished second on the team with five solo tackles, one interception and forced a fumble in a 23-13 road win at Tampa Bay. Abram also posted the fifth-best run defensive grade (79.9) among NFL safeties last week according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Chris Jones and Preston Smith each had a sack for Kansas City and Green Bay respectively this past Sunday. Jones has 9 ½ sacks on the year and 74 ½ for his career. He ranked sixth among interior defenders in the NFL with an 84.6 pressure grade during Week 17 and is third in that category with a 90.2 rating for the year.
Smith's sack also forced a fumble and now has eight sacks on the year and 66 during his career. He posted the top defensive grade (90.3) and pressure grade (90.2) on the Packers last week.
Willie Gay Jr. also had a strong performance for the Chiefs this past week. Gay made five tackles, one of which was for a loss. According to PFF, he ranked second on the team in run defense and tackling grades and was tied for ninth among NFL linebackers in run defense grade for Week 17.
Dak Prescott completed 26 of 38 passes for 345 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Dallas' 20-19 win over Detroit. Prescott threw a career-long 92-yard touchdown and was the second-longest completion in Cowboys' history. He also passes for 300-plus yards for the fifth time this season and threw for multiple TDs for the ninth time this year.
Prescott continues to lead the NFL with 32 TD tosses this season and is second among quarterbacks in offensive (90.5) and passing (88.7) grades.
Elgton Jenkins posted the top pass blocking grade among Packers' offensive linemen this past week and ranks fifth among guards in the NFL this season in that category.
Gabe Jackson was signed off Carolina's practice squad and started at right guard for the Panthers against Jacksonville.
