Bulldogs Fall To No. 14 LSU

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State battled on the gridiron but ultimately dropped their first game of the season against LSU by a score of 41-14 on Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium.
The Tigers scored the first 24 points of the game before MSU was able to strike late in the second quarter on a nine-yard rushing touchdown by Lideatrick Griffin. The wideout and return specialist finished the day with 142 all-purpose yards to go along with his scoring play.
Jo'Quavious Marks rushed for 75 yards on eight attempts. The senior notched his 200th collegiate catch early in the second quarter and cemented himself as the Bulldogs' newest record holder in career receptions.
Mike Wright found Antonio Harmon for a four-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Jett Johnson led Mississippi State with 14 tackles and 0.5 tackles-for-loss. Nathaniel Watson added 13 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss and 0.5 sacks.

Mississippi State will travel to South Carolina for its first road game of the season on Saturday, September 23. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT from Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be televised by SEC Network.
