Robson to Represent Team Canada in Pan Am Games

Jacob Robson to don the Red and White for Team Canada
OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has announced the 24 athletes selected to represent Canada at the WBSC Americas Pan Am Games Qualifier, and Diamond Dawg Jacob Robson earned a roster spot. Robson has represented Team Canada six times since 2011.
The "Maple Hammer" also competed with Canada during the 2023 World Baseball Classic and is currently playing with the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. Robson was a member of the Diamond Dawgs from 2013-2016.
The WBSC Americas Pan Am Games Qualifier will occur in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from June 16-21. The winner of the five-team tournament will earn a spot in the 2023 Pan Am Games baseball competition in Santiago, Chile, from October 21-27.
In Buenos Aires, Canada will play a round-robin style format against Panama, host Argentina, Peru, and Honduras, with the top two teams meeting in a winner-take-all final to determine a spot in Santiago 2023.
Robson joined the Kansas City Monarchs in 2022 and hit .288 with nine home runs and drove in 34 runs to close out the 2022 regular season. During the 2023 season, he is hitting .269 with nine extra-base hits (4 HRs, 3 2Bs, 2 3Bs). He has ten stolen bases for the Monarchs.
Robson was drafted in the eighth round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. During the 2016 season for the Dawgs, he hit .335 on the season and hit safely in 35 of his 47 starts. Robson had 15 multi-hit games and stole 18 bases. He tallied 46 stolen bases in his collegiate career, which is currently the ninth most in program history.
