Mississippi State Completes First Round At NCAA Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.ย โย No.ย 18 Mississippi State ended the first round of the NCAA Championshipsย in a tie for 21stย with No. 4 Arizona State.ย
The entire field struggledย in windy conditionsย throughout the day with no team shooting under par.ย No. 11ย Georgia Techย leads afterย being the only teamย to card an even score.ย
Only 18ย individualsย in a field of 156 shot under par,ย with justย twoย cardingย bogey-free rounds.ย
Garrett Endicottย leads the Bulldogs going into the second round, sittingย in a tie for 19th.ย He shotย even 70 and carded four birdies for the day.ย
Ford Cleggย andย Hunter Loganย ended the roundย in a tie for 47th. Clegg finished his front nine withย three consecutive birdies and four total for the round.ย Logan is tied for the second-most pars madeย (15)ย after the first 18.ย
Pedro Cruz Silvaย will start the second round for MSUย on Saturday at 9:27 a.m. CT from the No. 10 tee.ย Logan, Endicott,ย Ruan Pretoriusย and Clegg will follow in 11-minute increments.
