
Dennis Hires Aaron King As Assistant Coach And Recruiting Coordinator

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's volleyball head coach Julie Darty Dennis announced the addition of Aaron King as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator to her staff on Monday.
King joins Dennis' staff after spending six seasons as an assistant coach at Stetson University. In his six seasons with the Hatter's, King helped lead the program to 65 overall wins including 38 conference wins. In 2019 he helped the team win a single-season record of eight matches in a row which was their the first wining season in ASUN play since 2002.
"We are just thrilled to have Aaron join the staff here at Mississippi State," Dennis said. "He checks all of the boxes of what we need and I know he will come in and make an immediate impact. Aaron is someone who communicates and connects really well. He will do a great job coming in and serving as our recruiting coordinator. He has a positive energy about him that you can feel when you are around him. I think our team will really enjoy his infectious personality and his approach to coaching."
During King's six seasons, he assisted in developing a ASUN Freshman of the Year, three members of the All-Freshman Team, three Second Team All-Conference selections, seven ASUN Players of the Week, seven ASUN Defensive Players of the Week and seven ASUN Freshmen of the Week.
In the classroom, King has helped Stetson student-athletes earn the prominent AVCA Team Academic Award. He mentored a Hatter to ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ASUN All-Academic Team and two student-athletes to earn College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District.
Prior to his time at Stetson, King served as a volunteer coach at Western Kentucky in 2016. He helped guide the Lady Toppers to a 30-3 record, a Conference USA regular season and tournament championship and a trip to the NCAA tournament. He helped coach two AVCA All-Americans and three PrepVolleyball.com All-Americans.
King graduated from Western Kentucky in 2017, where he studied Architectural Science and earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. While earning a degree, he served as a practice player for the Lady Toppers from 2013-16 and worked as a court coach for two years at WKU volleyball camps.
During college, King served on the coaching staff of the Bravo Volleyball Club in Bowling Green, Ky. He was also the head coach of the 14's in 2016. There he oversaw all aspects of the team and served as the offensive floater coach in 2017, working with multiple teams and age groups on offensive skills.
A 2011 graduate of Louisville Trinity High School, King was a four-year member of the volleyball team. He served as a middle hitter and team captain during his senior year. He also played for the Fury Club team for four years.
