November 28, 2023 | Football
The Tennessee Titans defensive line duo of Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons lived in the Carolina Panthers' backfield this past Sunday.
The Mississippi State standouts combined for eight tackles – six of which went for a loss – three sacks, three quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery in the Titans' 17-10 win. Autry had three stops behind the line of scrimmage and a pair of sacks while Simmons notched three tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.
In addition, Simmons was selected as the NFLPA's Community Service MVP for Week 12 after handing out 500 turkeys to the community in Nashville, Tennessee.
Montez Sweat also had a strong performance for Chicago's defensive front. Sweat secured 1 ½ sacks against Minnesota on Monday Night Football to bring his yearly sack total to nine. Pro Football Focus (PFF) gave him the No. 2 pressure grade and the third-best defensive grade on the Bears for Week 12 and holds the No. 5 tackling grade among edge rushers in the NFL this season.
Dak Prescott continued his dominant season for Dallas by earning the highest PFF grade of any NFL player this season. Prescott graded out at 97 overall after completing 22 of 32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-10 win over Washington on Thanksgiving.
It was the fifth time this year that Prescott has received a grade of 90 or above while no other quarterback has exceeded three. His average offensive grade of 92.1 which and 90.8 passing grade are the highest in the NFL among signal callers. His 92.1 offensive grade also ranks as the second-best among all players this season.
It was the eighth time in Prescott's career that he has thrown for over 300 yards and four touchdowns in a game, the most in Cowboys' history. He also tied Tony Romo with his 10th career four passing TD performance, which is also tops in the franchise's annals. It was also the 58th multi-touchdown game of his career.
Darius Slay made four stops and earned the top tackling grade on the Eagles following Philadelphia's overtime win against Buffalo.
Rookie Tyrus Wheat tallied his first career tackle during the Cowboys' victory on Thanksgiving Day. Â
