Bulldogs Welcome Auburn To Newell-Grissom On Wednesday

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State volleyball is set to host Auburn inside the Newell-Grissom Building on Wednesday, with first serve is set for 6 p.m. CT.

"As we head into the final stretch of our season, we are still looking for ways to find momentum and rally in this final stretch," head coach Julie Darty Dennis said. "I am excited for one more Wednesday night in the Griss and I hope that our family and friends come out and support us. We always feel their support and they really help create such a special atmosphere for us! We are excited to welcome Auburn to StarkVegas and we are really looking forward to another night of great volleyball inside The Griss!"

Admission is free for all home volleyball matches with doors opening one hour prior to first serve. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a Newell-Grissom court rally towel. The match will be aired on SEC Network+ and the Watch ESPN app.

Mississippi State is 11-13 overall and 4-10 in SEC play, while Auburn is 18-7 overall and 8-6 conference play, with the Tigers are receiving votes in the AVCA rankings.

Libero Lauren Myrick has tallied 10-plus digs in 22 matches, spearheaded by 20-plus digs in six of those outings. Her 4.34 digs per set rank second in the SEC standings. Defensive Specialist Mary Neal has recorded 2.08 digs per set during her freshman season.

Outside hitters Sophie Agee and Karli Schmidt have combined for 26 matches of double-digit kills for the season. Agee has amassed 10 or more kills in 12 matches, while registering 2.83 kills per set. Agee leads the team with 24 aces (0.30 per set) and accumulated 147 digs (1.81 per set). Schmidt has registered 10-plus kills in 14 outings and cranked 2.94 kills per set.

Amina Shackelford has been a force at the net by earning 2.16 kills per set and tallying 0.84 blocks per set. Caylee Sharkey has collected 1.08 kills per set on the season.

Middle blocker Rebecca Walk has earned 1.75 kills per set on a .361 hitting clip, which ranks fourth on the hitting percentage SEC leaderboard. Sanaa Williams has totaled 1.06 blocks per set.
