
Mississippi State Welcomes Jacksonville State On Sunday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball hosts its third game this week when the Bulldogs welcome Jacksonville State to Humphrey Coliseum on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

Sunday marks the fifth game of the series between Mississippi State and Jacksonville State which have all been played at Humphrey Coliseum with the Bulldogs leading 4-0 overall. This is first meeting since a 69-54 Mississippi State win in Starkville on Dec. 20, 2012.
Jacksonville State enters Sunday with a record of 0-2 on the season following a 73-58 road defeat to Utah Tech on Thursday. This will be third straight game on the road to open the schedule for the Gamecocks. Junior guard Kristol Ayson leads the team with 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds through the first two contests.
Mississippi State tip offs its second game of the weekend after a dominant second half led to a 67-46 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Friday. Leading 27-26 at half, the Bulldogs went on a 23-2 run over 6:33 minutes of action in the third quarter - forcing six turnovers in that span - to take a commanding lead.
Sophomore guard Debreasha Powe led the team in points and rebounds on Friday, turning in 19 points that was propelled by 5-11 from behind the arc and nine rebounds in 31 minutes. Graduate student guard Lauren Park-Lane led the team in assists for the second straight game to open her Bulldog career with five, in addition to seven rebounds and five points.
Mississippi State's bench added 25 points in the effort - the second straight game that the bench has turned in at least 20 points - while all 11 Bulldogs saw action.
Mississippi State is now 16-2 at home under head coach Sam Purcell and 10-0 at home against non-conference regular season opponents. Mississippi State has now won 12 consecutive non-conference home dating back to December 19, 2021.
