Road to Pensacola: No. 21 Bulldogs Secure the 4th Seed in SEC Soccer Tournament

Pensacola, Fla. – No. 21 Mississippi State (10-4-4, 5-3-2 SEC) is Pensacola Beach bound as they will compete in the 2023 Southeastern Conference Tournament next week. The league's top ten teams are set to battle for SEC supremacy as the tournament runs October 29th through November 5th.
The Bulldogs secured 17 points in the conference standings this season after winning five SEC matchups. Under Head Coach James Armstrong, State will enjoy their first ever distinction as the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will automatically be placed in Tuesday's quarterfinals.
The No. 4 seed, Mississippi State, (10-4-4, 5-3-2 SEC) will the No. 5 seed, Alabama, (11-4-4, 5-4-1) in the final quarterfinal on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida. The match is set for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff and will air live on SEC Network, as will all matches during the SEC Tournament.
When the Dawgs and Crimson Tide meet on Tuesday, they will be just nine days removed from their last meeting in Tuscaloosa. In that encounter, Mississippi State gained the upper hand over the tide 2-0, handing Alabama their first loss at home in 28 games, a streak that dated back to 2021.
The winner of the No.4/No.5 matchup will face off against the winner of No. 1 Arkansas and No.8 Auburn/No. 9 Tennessee.
