
Mississippi State Soccer Earns Top 16 Spot in NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS — With less than three weeks remaining until the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship selections, the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee has unveiled its midseason rankings of the top-16 teams, and Mississippi State Soccer is making its mark.
Under the leadership of Keri Mendoza, Senior Associate AD at Cal Poly and this year's committee chair, the top-16 reveal showcases the exceptional performances of women's soccer teams across the nation.
Using results through games on October 17, Mississippi State Soccer secured the 15th spot in the committee rankings, with an impressive record of 9-3-3*. The Bulldogs have demonstrated their skill and determination, earning a well-deserved position among the top teams in the country.
The 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship will feature 31 automatic qualifiers and 33 at-large selections, which will be revealed on Monday, November 6 at 3 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The committee will identify the top 32 teams, seeding 50 percent of the bracket in four groupings of 1 to 8. The top-16 teams will be identified in rank order and assigned a seed grouping from 1 to 4.
The tournament will commence on Friday, November 10, with campus sites hosting matches through the quarterfinals as teams compete for a spot in the Women's College Cup.
The highly anticipated 2023 Women's College Cup will return to WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, with the semifinals scheduled for Friday, December 1, and the national championship game set for Monday, December 4.
