It was a Mississippi State sack party as three members of D-Line U reached the quarterback during Week 5 of NFL action.
Montez Sweat paved the way for with 1 ½ sacks for the Washington Commanders last Thursday and is tied for 10th in the NFL with another Bulldog who also brought down the QB on Sunday. Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs was credited with a sack to match Sweat with 4 ½ sacks on the season.
Preston Smith also provided a sack for the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The former college defensive end turned NFL linebacker now has 59 career sacks during his nine-year career.
Former two-time Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins returned to his starting spot at left guard for the to the Packers after missing the previous two games due to injury.
Darius Slay finished tied for third on the Philadelphia Eagles with four solo stops while fellow defensive back Johnathan Abram was elevated from New Orleans' practice squad for the third week in a row. Abram recorded three tackles in the Saints' shutout at the New England Patriots.
Logan Cooke opened Sunday's slate for the second straight week across the pond in London, England. The Jacksonville Jaguars specialist punted five times for a 49.4-yard average, including a season-long 60-yarder.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw a 26-yard yard touchdown pass on Sunday Night Football.
