Women’s Golf Completes First Round of NCAA Championships

Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Mississippi State women's golf team completed the first round of the NCAA Championships on Friday. After playing 18 holes in Scottsdale, Ariz. the Bulldogs are 10th shooting 11-over par (299).
Mississippi State was led throughout the first round by SEC Freshman of the Year, Julia Lopez Ramirez. Lopez Ramirez rolled in five birdies on the back nine to climb up the leaderboard to finish tied for 18th carding a 73 (1-over) first round. Lopez Ramirez's five birdies lead the field in the first round.
The veteran duo of Blair Stockett and Hannah Levi both finished tied for 28th with a score of 2-over (74). Levi sunk the fourth most pars on the day with 12 including eight straight from Holes 4-11.
Abbey Daniel finished tied for 93rd with a score of 6-over (78), while Ashley Gilliam finished tied for 130th at 12-over (84).
State will tee off at approximately 2:36 CT Saturday from Hole 10. The Bulldogs will be paired with fellow SEC member Vanderbilt and Purdue from the Big Ten for the second consecutive day.
