
Seven PRs Fall in the Swamp on Day One

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On the opening day of the Tom Jones Invitational, seven Bulldogs from the Mississippi State track and field men's program set new personal bests:
On the women's side, Sydney Steely finished 0.25 seconds short of tying her personal best time in the women's 1500m.
In total, the Maroon and White ended Friday with 10 top-10 finishes.
The final day of the Tom Jones Invite begins Saturday, April 16, at 9 a.m. CT with Francesca Chambers kicking the day off in the women's hammer throw. The Bulldogs will hit the track starting at 11 a.m. CT when Rosealee Cooper and Cathrina Morris compete in the women's 100m hurdles prelims. The finals for that event, upon advancing, would be at 1:20 p.m. CT. State will wrap up action in Gainesville Saturday evening (4:35 p.m. CT) in the men's 4x400m relay.

- Teammates Lee Eppie and Keldrick Edwards both shortened their men's 200m time
- Safir Scott set a new PR in the men's long jump
